Julia R. Golden is the Associate Dean of Student Affars at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science University in Boston, Massachusetts. Julia has worked in student affairs for 11 years in positions such as conduct, residential life, student activities and diversity & multicultural affairs. Julia loves creating policies, building unique and creative workshops in leadership and social justice. Her passion for social justice, honoring intersectionality and self-reflection is what inspires and motivates her work within diversity. Julia feels these are crucial tools to create institutional and cultural change. Julia was the first queer person of color to create a national Trans and Queer Person of Color safe zone training with the help of TQPOC scholars across the nation. Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a Master of Education from Springfield College. She is in her 2nd year at University of Massachusetts Boston for the Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education program. Julia serves on NASPA Region I regional advisory board as the inaugural Diversity Initiatives Coordinator as well as the NASPA Region I conference committee and is the founder of the NASPA Region I Ubuntu Institute for student affairs professionals of color.
