Maureen Hawkins, M.Ed.all, is the director of wellness & health promotion services at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Maureen has 17 years higher education experience with eight years in health promotion including the UCF Alcohol and Other Drug Education office. Maureen has served on the Mayor Teresa Jacobs’ Orange County Heroin & Opiate Task Force where she assisted in the development of the outreach and bystander education effort “Not all Heroes” throughout Orlando and Orange County. Maureen launched the UCF Overdoes Awareness effort this August with a focus on the family.  Maureen has presented at nation conferences including NASPA and ACUHO-I. Additionally, Maureen serves as the co-chair for the NASPA Wellness & Health Promotion Knowledge Community. Maureen is seeking her doctoral degree in public administration with a research focus on health policy and social determinants of health.
