Melissa J. Camba-Kelsay is a Coordinator for Student Leadership in the Center for Student Leadership Development and Instructor in the academic Minor in Leadership Studies at the University of Rhode Island. Her higher education experiences include working in campus activities, student centers, orientation, residential life, intercultural affairs/diversity initiatives, and leadership development. She is co-author of the book Centering Women of Color in Academic Counterspaces: A Critical Race Analysis of Teaching, Learning and Classroom Dynamics.
Melissa's career in higher education started through the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP), and she has continued to serve NUFP as a Mentor and as a past member of the advisory board. Melissa currently serves as the Asian Pacific Islander Knowledge Community representative for NASPA Region 1. She earned her Master of Science degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University and her Bachelor of Arts in English from the State University of New York, College at Geneseo.
