NASPA has joined other leading national higher education associations in opposition to a new set of teacher preparation program regulations proposed by the United States Department of Education. We share concern as a member of the higher education community, raising issue with the unprecedented federal overreach into the academic mission of colleges and universities. And although NASPA is supportive of the Department's goals to ensure that academic programs prepare the next generation of quality educators within our schools, we join our colleagues in opposition to the proposed regulations for several key reasons.
