Call for Applications: Journal of Women and Gender Editorial Board (2021-2024 Term)

Center for Women Womxn in Student Affairs
August 12, 2020

The Journal of Women and Gender in Higher Education (JWG) invites Editorial Board applications for the 2021-2024 term.

The editors of the Journal of Women and Gender in Higher Education seek individuals with expertise in research and/or practice that critically examines women and gender in higher education to join the Editorial Board. The journal’s mission focuses on scholarship that centers gender-based experiences of students, faculty, and staff while examining oppression, including but not limited to patriarchy, sexism, trans* oppression, and cisnormativity as they intersect with other systems of domination. The editors are particularly interested in manuscripts that not only focus on a gender-based group but also critically interrogate the ways in which gender has been used as a construct to limit opportunities and shape outcomes and experiences. The journal publishes high-quality and rigorous scholarship that can be used by NASPA members and others to transform daily practice, research, and the field of higher education. Applications should be submited via the application form on the NASPA website.

Application Requirements:

  • Cover letter describing the applicant’s interest, qualifications, and areas of expertise (content and methodological)
  • Curriculum vitae or résumé

Successful Editorial Board applicants typically have experience with publishing and the peer review process.

Submit your application by completing the application form on the NASPA website.

New Editorial Board members will be notified by December 2020.

Applications will not be complete without uploading a cover letter and a CV or résumé.

Please circulate this call to colleagues who may have an interest in joining the Journal of Women and Gender in Higher Education Editorial Board. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Co-Editors-in-Chief Dr. Margaret Sallee at [email protected] or Dr. Jeni Hart at [email protected].
