How to Make a Gift to the Foundation

You can give in whatever way is most convenient for you – monthly, quarterly, annually, checks, bank account withdrawals, and more. With your gift, you are able to support a fund of your choosing with your donation. Each gift is tax deductible. There are a few ways to make your donation count:

One-Time Gift

These are one-time gifts in the any amount in support of the Foundation. Gifts are defaulted to the NASPA Foundation Excellence fund and you are able to select from multiple funds with various causes if you prefer otherwise.

Major Gift / Pledge

Make your dollars go further and make a commitment to a one of the various pledge levels of the NASPA Foundation. These are giving societies in which donors commit to a 5-year pledge at a level of their choosing. You would be recognized as one of the Foundation’s top donors and honored at the NASPA Annual Conference with a special lapel pin reflecting their commitment to the future.

You can designate which fund you would like to support at the time of your pledge.  Once pledges are committed, you are not able to change their fund preference for donations toward the pledge. Pledge payments are made on a recurring basis either monthly, quarterly, or yearly. You can select either electronic credit card transactions or bank withdrawals at the time of pledge commitment.

Recurring gifts are affordable, convenient and green. Choose what works for you - simply designate an amount, frequency and payment method.  You may also choose to donate through open-ended recurring monthly payments.

Planned Gifts

Tuck a little something away for the NASPA Foundation in your estate plans - guaranteeing the future vitality of Student Affairs. Contact the Foundation Office for easy ways to leave your legacy to the NASPA Foundation, in addition to family. Once your plans are complete, please consider submitting our deferred gift letter of intent. This allows us to recognize and thank you now, as well as plan for the future.

Royalties Pledge
Are you published? Congratulations! As an author, you can designate a portion of your royalties from publications as a gift to the NASPA Foundation. Contact the Foundation Office for more information.

What Would You Like to Support?

When you give, you can choose from the following opportunities for investment:

NASPA Excellence Fund

Unrestricted gifts to support NASPA’s highest priorities in innovation and scholarship. Gifts help support the following: 

  • Hardee Dissertation of the Year: Underwrites the Dissertation of the Year Award
  • Channing Briggs Small Grants: Supporting research and scholarship to add to the knowledge base of the profession and ensure that data informs practice.
  • Robert H. Shaffer Award: Supports a stipend for the tenured faculty member who receives the annual Robert H. Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty Member.
  • Zenobia Hikes Award: Supports a stipend for a NASPA member who otherwise would not be able to attend the Alice Manicur Symposium due to the fact the applicant's institution cannot support their attendance financially.
  • Access Scholarships: Provides financial assistance for members in covering conference registrations and hotel accommodations
  • Membership Scholarships: Provides support for membership dues 
BACCHUS Fund

Provides scholarships for students to attend national and/or regional BACCHUS programs.

George Kuh Award Fund

Supports a stipend for the individual who is awarded the George D. Kuh Outstanding Contribution to Literature and/or Research Award.

James Rhatigan Fund

Provides NASPA Annual Conference scholarships to graduate students.

Ruth Strang Research Award

Supports and recognizes individuals for outstanding contributions to the body of literature concerning women in higher education. This awarded is presented in conjunction with NASPA's Center for Women.

Social Justice Fund

Supports access and education through compelling thought leaders for NASPA Briefings and  scholarship for members to attend NASPA programs to further their social justice education.

Special Interest Funds

Supports the long-term objectives of a given Constituent Groups. Currently available Special Interest funds accepting donations are:
