Welcome from Region I Coordinator, Patrick Hale!

July 19, 2016 Antonio Duran Arizona State University

Dear NUFP Fellows,

On behalf of the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program and NASPA Region I, congratulations on your admittance to the program and welcome to the field of student affairs!

My name is Patrick Hale and I am excited to have the opportunity to serve as the Region I NUFP Coordinator!  I am the Assistant Director of Intercultural Affairs at Stonehill College, just south of Boston.  Prior to Stonehill, I worked in Residence Life at the University of Vermont (UVM) and Boston University (BU) for more than five years collectively. My passion for Student Affairs was ignited during my undergraduate experience at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in Region IV-E, where I found my academic and co-curricular experiences to be very rewarding.  I continued on to earn my Masters of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University Bloomington in 2010.

NASPA has become my home association in large part to the NUFP program, since my time as a fellow from 2006 to 2008 at my undergrad. I have been truly honored and fortunate to connect with so many wonderful colleagues and lifelong friends through the program, and have grown in my knowledge of the field tremendously through the help of my mentor and other seasoned professionals who were kind enough to invest in my growth and success. Many colleagues and friends who have participated in the NUFP, either as a fellow and/or mentor, have expressed to me how much NUFP shaped them, both personally and professionally. My hope is that through taking advantage of these opportunities, you will also find this program beneficial in guiding your professional calling.

As the NUFP Region I Coordinator and proud NUFP alum, I am here to serve as a resource to you and your mentor. I encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunities that the program has to offer. I am also excited to learn from you and see you shape your own NUFP journey. I invite you to reach out to me if you have any questions or need any resources as you partake in this experience. I can be contacted at [email protected] or at (508) 565-1409.

Once again, congratulations and welcome to the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program! I look forward to connecting with you soon.

Patrick J. Hale, M.S.Ed.
