The BACCHUS Initiatives of NASPA recently celebrated 40 years of peer education. We would not have celebrated this milestone if it were not for peer educators, advisors, and their commitment to helping college students to make healthy choices.
The annual BACCHUS Initiatives of NASPA General Assembly, occurring in November each year, is the premier educational and networking opportunity for peer educators and their advisors. It’s more than just a conference. It is often a launching pad for students to enter student affairs, health education, and related fields.
Please show you support for peer education by donating to scholarships to help students attend this leadership conference. In partnership with the NASPA Foundation, we have created the BACCHUS Fund - with the express purpose of launching the leaders of tomorrow. Anything helps, though a $315 commitment ensures one more peer educator will be able to attend the conference.
You can make your pledge today through the NASPA Foundation. Be sure to choose the BACCHUS Fund for your gift designation.
Thank you for supporting peer educators!
Student Advisory Committee (SAC)
Each year student groups involved with The BACCHUS Initiatives of NASPA elect peer leaders to serve on a Student Advisory Committee (SAC). The peer leaders are selected from institutions across the nation, representing a diverse group of students and educational pursuits. Two Student Advisory Committee Directors work as a liason between the NASPA National staff and the SAC, as well as providing support at events such as General Assembly. Each institution with a registered BACCHUS chapter is entitled to select a delegate to represent their voice on issues impacting peer education on the national level.
In addition, the BACCHUS Initiatives of NASPA are fortunate to work with a talented group of professionals on campus. Regional consultants and state coordinators are a group of experienced advisors who create a network of regional leadership support surrounding peer education.
Please view the PDF files below for more information regading our current Student Advisory Committee, as well as position descriptions and how to run for SAC.
