Adult Learners and Students with Children Research Grant

Adult Learners and Students with Children Assessment, Evaluation, and Research Military Connected Off-Campus and Commuter Student Services Mid-Level
Application Deadline: October 1, 2026 | Award Type: knowledge community

Adult learners and students with children are important but relatively unstudied populations within higher education research. According to the NCES data, there has been a continuous increase in students 25 and older enrolling in postsecondary school. In Fall 2023, students aged 25 and over made up roughly 32% of the total enrolled students (based only on 5,677 institutions). Yet despite this growth over the years, there is still much to uncover about the needs and support that adult learners and student parents require to be successful in a postsecondary environment

The Knowledge Community for Adult Learners and Students with Children wishes to support further research into our populations and highlight that research in a meaningful manner by providing this annual grant.
