NASPA IV-W Outstanding Faculty Member

The recipient of the award will be the Region IV-West nominee for the Robert Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty member awarded by NASPA at the national level.

The recipient of the award will be the Region IV-West nominee for the Robert Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty member awarded by NASPA at the national level.  This award is presented to a tenured, full-time teaching faculty member in a student affairs graduate preparation program with a solid record of scholarly achievement.  Nominees will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

• Tenured and teaching fulltime in student affairs graduate preparation program
• Responsible for teaching graduate or professional school students who generally pursue careers in higher education administration and student affairs
• Consistent and excellent mentorship of graduate students, several whom have moved into responsible positions in higher education and student affiars
• Solid record of scholarly achievements in appropriate journals and publications
• Active individual NASPA membership
• Significant contributions to professional associations
