The Parent and Family Relations Knowledge Community (PFRKC) Research Grant supports the discovery of new knowledge and application of theory to practice that enhances the relationship between universities and parents and families of undergraduate students.

Nominations for the award must show evidence for why the research should be considered by describing how their research aligns with/or improves the relationship between post-secondary institutions and parents and families. Research must be completed by December 2020; the same year the award is granted. Self-nominations are accepted. 

Nominators will submit:

  • Basic information about the nominee and the nominator; 
  • The title of the research, a brief description of the research goals, estimated completion month and year of the research;
  • Purpose of the research; 
  • IRB approval document, a statement of why waived or not necessary, or a plan for IRB approval must be submitted; and

Recipients of this award will be recognized at the PFRKC Open Business Meeting held during the annual NASPA Conference. The award may be accompanied by a cash grant of up to $250.
