About

The AVP/DOS Institute is structured with ample opportunity for dialogue among participants. Facilitated discussions around relevant and timely issues affecting us in student affairs will provide opportunities to learn from experts including respected SSAOs in our regions, while also benefiting from the wisdom of fellow AVP/DOS colleagues as we engage in lively conversations about our shared challenges, unique perspectives, and innovative approaches relative to the featured topics.

Please note that the AVP/DOS Institute is designed for assistant and associate vice presidents and dean of student positions.

Whether you’re new to the field, or looking for a replenishing experience, we sincerely hope you’ll join us for the AVP/DOS Pre-Conference Institute!

Institute Goals and Learning Objectives

By participating in the activities and discussions associated with the Assistant/Associate Vice Presidents or Dean of Students Institute, you will be able to:

Connect with and develop a support network of peers at the AVP/DOS level;

Reflect on and practice methods for finding balance and achieving excellence in your role; and

Contrast how you approach your work with what SSAOs say they need from their #2s.
