Regional Annual Conferences Region II AVP or "Number Two" Faculty Graduate Mid-Level New Professional Senior Level Undergraduate VP for Student Affairs

NASPA Region II is excited to create the opportunity for our community to come together to connect, grow and inspire. This year, through a virtual conference, joining Region II is more affordable, more accessible and more flexible than ever! Using an established online platform, the Region II conference team has developed ways for attendees to connect and receive effective professional development in a virtual space.

The mission of the NASPA Region II Conference is to connect members of the Region II student affairs community by creating a conference experience that integrates NASPA's core values of integrity, innovation, inclusion, and inquiry. We strive to help participants develop networks to share the rewards and challenges of educating college students that celebrate our values.

This year, we are excited to welcome our members to a virtual experience that will provide them with engaging educational sessions, inspiring featured speakers, and several opportunities to connect with friends and colleagues through our various receptions and evening socials. Dear SSAOs and AVPs,

I invite you to join us for this summer’s virtual SSAO/AVP Institute, as part of NASPA Region II’s Virtual Conference. The SSAO/AVP Institute will take place on Tuesday, June 8 from 8:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Noon).

As we emerge from an unprecedented year, this year’s Institute provides us the opportunity to take stock of where we are and consider how we emerge from this pandemic as we plan for Fall ’21.

I hope you’ll consider joining us for what promises to be an engaging and informative morning with colleagues.

12:00 p.m. - 12:50 p.m. Faculty Reception Dr. Tiffany Cresswell-Yeager (Faculty Council Representative) invites all faculty to join her during the faculty reception to meet new faculty members throughout the region and discuss important topics relevant to the faculty experience.
12:00 p.m. - 12:50 p.m. First-Time Attendees Reception Dr. Jodi Bailey (Regional Director) and Danielle Nesselbush (Strategic Initiatives Coordinator) invite all first-time attendees to this introductory session to the Region. This session is also open to members who have attended a conference before but would like some information on navigating the conference experience though Hopin.
4:00 p.m. - 4:50 p.m. NASPA Undergraduate Fellow (NUFP) Reception Amber Hurt (Region II NUFP Coordinator) invites all current NUFPs and all NUFP Alumni to attend the NUFP reception.
4:00 p.m. - 4:50 p.m. Maryland State Reception Dr. Kevin Banks (Maryland State Representative) invites all attendees in Maryland to join him at the state reception to build connections with colleagues in the state.
4:00 p.m. - 4:50 p.m. Knowledge Community Receptions Evelyn Ortega and Sherlene Ayala (KC Co-Chairs) invite all members of the various Knowledge Communities to join the KC reception. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the various KCs and get connected and involved!
Time TBD Small Colleges and Universities Reception Dr. Darrien Davenport (Small Colleges & Universities Representative) invites all attendees that work at small institutions to join him to build connections and discuss topics relevant to the small institutions experience.

9:00 a.m. - 12:50 p.m.  SSAO Pre-Conference Gathering *REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Dr. Michael Christakis, Region II VPSA Coordinator, invites all Senior Student Affairs Officers to register for this pre-conference gathering focused on discussing the SSAO experience. There is no additional cost for this gathering, but registration is required.
12:00 p.m. - 12:50 p.m. SSAO and Graduate Student Lunch Reception *REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Dr. Michael Christakis (VPSA Coordinator) invites Senior Student Affairs Officers and Graduate Students to register for a free networking lunch. Please make sure to pre-register on the conference registration form.
12:00 p.m. - 12:50 p.m. Mid-Managers Reception Dr. Chris Conzen (Mid-Managers Initiatives Chair) invites all Mid-Managers to join him to build new connections and discuss important topics relevant to the Mid-Managers experience.
