2024 DLI Director Application
The DLI Director, selected faculty members, and NASPA staff plan this six-day leadership institute to develop leadership skills, enhance cultural competency, and prepare Fellows for a career in student affairs. Specifically, faculty will co-lead a cluster of 8-10 students throughout the DLI experience and provide support to all students attending the institute.
Travel, meals, and housing are provided by NASPA and our host institutions.This position is open to current NASPA Members. Applicants must have at least five full-time years of post-master professional experience at time of application.
The director elect must be free to attend DLI 2023 June 22-28, 2023 and DLI 2024 one week to be determined with the help of the director and the 2024 Host institution. The 2024 event will take place in late June. The term of this volunteer opportunity is as follows:
Feb 2023-June 2023- 2023 DLI Director Elect and Institute Faculty Member
July 2023-Jun 2024- 2024 DLI Director
Jul 2024- June 2025- 2025 DLI Director Advisor (passive leadership role no travel required)

Host Institution Application
2024 Host Institution Application: Now Open
Priority Deadline: December 16, 2022 | Final Deadline: February 5, 2023
The Host Institution for the Dungy Leadership Institute plays a pivotal role in the success of the program and the overall experience for the student participants. The board is actively looking for campuses to support DLI in this way for the upcoming 2024 conference or future years.
Host Institution Requirements
For a more robust overview of requirements and responsibilities, please see the DLI Information sheet at the end of the application.In short, in order to host the NUFP Dungy Leadership Institute, your institution must commit to providing the following services, including expenses related to each:
- A dedicated onsite coordinator and staff support to execute the institute
- Meeting space, audio/visual needs, and internet access
- On-campus housing for approximately 45 participants (Fellows, DLI faculty, and staff) for the duration of the event
- Meals for all participants
- Coordination of institute logistics (i.e., room reservation, directions, signs)
- Coordination of onsite registration (i.e., check-in, name tags, notebooks)
- Ground transportation to and from the local airport and local events
- Use of computer, copier, printer, fax, and office supplies during the institute
Jackson State University
Founded in 1877, Jackson State University is a public historically black university in Jackson, Mississippi. It is one of the largest HBCUs in the United States and the fourth largest university in Mississippi in terms of student enrollment. Jackson State University is recognized as an R2 “Doctoral Universities: High Research Activity” institution based on the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.” It is supported by legislative appropriations supplemented by student fees and federal and private grants.

COVID-19 Event Safety
All participants at NASPA in-person conferences, whether a faculty member/presenter, attendee, sponsor/exhibitor, staff, guest, or vendor will be required to be fully vaccinated. Individuals who require a vaccination exemption must provide documentation of a negative PCR test no more than 72 hours prior to arrival to any event. All participants at NASPA events will be required to wear masks. Please see the NASPA COVID Event Safety and Responsibility webpage for complete information about NASPA's policy.

Faculty Applications Open
Application Deadline is January 6, 2023
Faculty co-lead 8-10 students throughout the DLI experience and provide support to all students attending the institute. Applications are available but please not the application system will be down beginning Friday December 9th and will reopen Monday December 12th.
Travel, meals, and housing are provided by NASPA and our host institutions. Applicants must have at least five full-time years of professional experience (post-master's degree) and be a NASPA member at the time of application.
