About

In recent years, the effort put forth by colleges and universities to prevent and address incidents of campus sexual violence has come under increased public scrutiny. Against a backdrop of existing federal law and regulation, and fueled by violence on college and university campuses, calls have been made by state leaders for new policy action to shape how postsecondary institutions prevent and address incidents of gender-based violence.  This action is not without implications for campus’ responsibilities under existing federal law and the strategies by which colleges and universities affirm safe, equitable, and inclusive learning and living environments.

NASPA and Education Commission of the States (ECS) have partnered to examine state legislative developments on campus sexual violence and frame issues and considerations for leaders in higher education and state policy.  This live webcast launch of the partnership will offer new insight on legislative developments and engage leading voices who are working to address campus sexual violence across the states.
